This texture is assigned by the user in their profile-- it is indistinguishable from all the other textures. This Death Texture the user owns gets put on a part of what he wants to protect and appears when the item is rezzed. <br /><br />Everytime an item gets rezzed, the checksums of the textures in it are computed and looked up on the DEATH list on a new server -- protector. If a match is found, a certain script that the user also puts in his profile executes, checking that the Creator name of the object equals the creator name of the texture on record at Protector. Copybot changes the creator of the object to the thief's name. But the thief can't change the UUID of the texture's record on Protector. So when the thief rezzes the stolen goods the first time, that script runs, fails the check, and both the creator and LL are alerted that $thief has been caught copybotting.<br /><br />And since this check only occurs when you rezz something, the additional load on systems is negligible. And since everyone will have a different death texture the copybotter won't know which texture of all the textures he's stolen is the poisoned one. And legally gotten stuff and sold stuff still has the original name of the builder in llGetCreator -- only stolen stuff will change that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-840090857326641450.post-22064396691302018042011-07-08T10:05:40.635-04:002011-07-08T10:05:40.635-04:00I still wear a Wingless Emoto...
